FUNCTION: Air Force Financial Analyst (Analyst 1-4, Advanced Analyst or Senior Analyst)

LOCATION: Colorado Springs Operations - Colorado Springs, CO
EDUCATION REQUIRED: Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in math, engineering, business, or the sciences.
YEARS OF RELEVANT EXPERIENCE: The position requires three equivalent years of experience in analysis and technical management. Two years experience credit for Master’s degree or three years experience credit for a Ph.D.
REQUIRED SKILLS: On-site in Air Force organization. Financial management experience in a DoD environment, budget execution experience in a DoD acquisition program and experience in the DoD PPBE process are required. MAJCOM experience preferred. Analytical experience providing decision support to senior DoD management is required. Competency with Microsoft products and AF proprietary systems to include ABSS, DTS and CRIS. Requirement validation experience supporting the budgeting and programming processes within DoD and the demonstrated ability to develop new or enhance existing products/process to improve operations are also required.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED/RESPONSIBILITIES: Person with extensive knowledge of the DoD budget process. Provides budget execution management support within the program's business management directorate. Responsible for managing the collection, validation and update to financial execution data to the budget execution database on a monthly basis. Responsible for numerous recurring reports that track and forecast spending at the program and component level. Responsible for the modification of database queries and reports to meet analytical demands as required. Provides analysis, produces briefing charts, and conducts program budget execution reviews. Conducts analysis of program spending and component requirements as required. Prepares, coordinates and transmits funding documents to support program efforts. Monitors major program-level contracts and provides data and/or recommendations to support funding decisions. Provides key support in the development and implementation of a requirement validation and prioritization process for the program office. Must qualify for DoD Secret security clearance.
