Our experience in federal government finance and accounting IT Systems and business processes, along with our support of multiple agency Chief Information Officer (CIO) organizations, uniquely positions Tecolote to support system improvement initiatives throughout the government. Our 10 years of experience in designing and implementing multiple electronic commerce initiatives provides tangible support for the President’s Management Agenda (PMA).
Tecolote was part of the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) CIO team that was recognized by CIO Magazine as one of the Top 100 CIO Organizations in the country (includes federal government and commercial).
Awarded to Tecolote for developing and fostering a collaborative partnership with the Office of Management and Budget, clearly defining expectations and teaming across the agency to achieve an overall rating of “Green” for NASA on the Electronic Government element of the President’s Management Agenda. Signed by Sean O’Keefe, Administrator, NASA.
Awarded for our work as part of the team supporting the Wide Area Workflow - Receipt and Acceptance (WAWF-RA). WAWF-RA is a DoD web-based system that allows electronic submission, acceptance and processing of invoices and receiving reports, resulting in no lost paperwork and no interest penalties in a real-time, paperless environment.
- Tecolote delivered products critical to the success of two emerging DHS IT systems: the Automated Commercial Environment (ACE) and Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Bureau’s Consolidated Enforcement Environment (CEE).
- Our initial Business Case for CEE supported its being chosen as the first new DHS IT system to be designated as a Level 1 (high dollar, high visibility) program.
Tecolote supports the Government Program Lead with multiple program management capabilities. This program captures, through a single web-portal sign-on, access to all DLA business systems used by more than 16,000 DLA staff. The program provides real-time access to business process and systems knowledge to authorized users and a collaboration capability that dramatically improves access to critical information needed to perform a myriad of logistics, finance, human resources and IT jobs.
Tecolote has developed cost/savings models to assess the impact of new IT systems planned to replace multiple legacy systems performing similar work across the full spectrum of the transition to their end-state architecture. Global estimates provide savings across all FSA business areas while discrete cost/savings models are used to establish FSA’s negotiating position estimate for each new IT system acquisition award.
Tecolote is on the leading edge of developing tools and media that support knowledge management and electronic data sharing. Our best examples include the Knowledge Web Services (KnWS) tool, GPS-Today web site and the Test Asset Resource Tracking System (TARTS).
- KnWS is a browser-based Enterprise Knowledge Management System used to organize, share, search and retrieve documents, Automated Cost Estimator (ACE) models and Cost Estimating Relationship (CER) libraries.
- Tecolote-developed TARTS is recognized by the United States Inspector General (IG) as a “best business practice.”
- Tecolote-developed GPS-Today website provides secure global access to program schedule data.
