FUNCTION: Contracting Subject Matter Expert
 
LOCATION: Colorado Springs Operations - Colorado Springs, CO
 
EDUCATION REQUIRED: Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in math, engineering, or the sciences.
 
REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE: We are seeking a candidate with at least 10 years of contracting experience in a Department of Defense (DoD) environment such as the Intelligence Community, NRO and/or Air Force. A master's degree may substitute for two years of relevant experience. Experience with Space acquisition and sustainment is desired. A TS/SCI DoD security clearance is required. Previously Warranted Government Contract Officers are preferred with high-level proficiency and working knowledge of the FAR (Federal Acquisition Regulation), associated supplements, and other regulatory requirements.
 
RESPONSIBILITIES: This position will be on-site in a Colorado Springs location supporting a Classified Air Force Program. Responsibilities include assisting the government in the development of contract acquisition strategies through interaction with staff and external government contracting offices, monitoring the status and developing transition recommendations for existing contracts, supporting development of performance work statements, and performing contract surveillance duties to include the organization and administration of routine PMRs (Program Management Reviews) for senior program leaders. Additionally, the position will be responsible for supporting Program Management activities and monitoring/assessing the latest DoD contract acquisition processes and policies in order to advise the government client on contract strategy decisions, negotiations, and modifications. Responsibilities are for consultation purposes only and do not include providing any type of government direction, authorization or approval.
